Secretary’s Report

 

Minutes from March meeting read. Minutes accepted.

 

Reviewed incoming correspondence. Of note:

1.     Thank you notes for donation to Chief Frederickson Fund from Navsub Base Groton.

2.     Thank you note from BMC Lathrop for McShan Award (See old business)

3.     Letter from National Convention Committee

4.     Letter from CPOA Auxiliary about upcoming ball. (See new Business)

 

Treasurer’s Report

 

Balances as per treasurer’s report of 29 April 2003.  Report accepted.

Old Business

 

Sponsorship for the Dolcon Little League. MCPO D’Amico will investigate sponsoring a team.

 

Articles for the CPO Magazine. Keep writing. SCPO Coughlin will write another article and provide art for previous and upcoming events, including Academy EPOY, BBQ’s with Reserve Chiefs, etc.

 

McShan Inspirational Award. Received a gracious thank you note from CPO BMC Terry Lathrop, most recent winner of Award.

 

New Business

 

MCPO O’Toole requested $250 donation to Salvation Army Children’s Summer Camp Program.

 

Motion passed unanimously.

 

MCPO O’Toole also passed that Chief’s Academy Class 107 will hold a reception at the Academy’s Officers Club Lee Rail Friday, May 02 at 1700.

 

National Convention: Chapter pays for primary delegate. Whatever monies are left will be divided equally among others who wish to attend. National Convention will be held in Mobile, AL 25-29 August.

 

Need to cut checks to National for the following:

 

1.     CCCAF

2.     Building Fund

3.     Memorial Fund

 

Special Olympics: Held May 17 at Waterford High School. CPOA will run a concession booth, looking for volunteers.

 

 

Good of the Order

 

Board elections coming up. Nominations in September, ballots mailed in October, and results in November. If there are no nominations, then current board members continue to serve.

 

SCPO Adams volunteered to represent CPOA’s interests at the Academy’s Morale Committee.
