1205 Meeting commenced with Pledge of Allegiance
Read and accepted.
President discussed:
(1) Gave overview of recent CPOA Convention.
(2) Handouts were passed out to everyone to highlight the convention outcomes.
(3) MCPO Isherwood presented with Gold Lifetime membership in CPOA.
(4) Discussed MCPO Panel at CPOA Convention.
(5) Talked briefly about the 4 goals of the MCPO-CG.
(6) CPOA Bylaws suspended and being reviewed to put into proper alignment.
(7) MCPO Isherwood is planning on stepping down and having a successor who will be up to speed in time for the next convention.
(8) MCPO Isherwood mentioned the book “Bloodstained Sea” (about CG in WW II) is in the mess and available to any member who would like to read it.
(1) Football Games are main money maker throughout the year.
(2) Talk of offering Enlisted Association the opportunity to work alongside CPOA at football games.
(3) MCPO Creighton makes a motion for Enlisted Association “Walk for Diabetes” sponsorship on 19 Sep. Motion was donate $100.00. Motion seconded and accepted.
(4) MSTC Harbuck would like to get the ball rolling on donating items to troops in Iraq.
(5) It would be good to give some sort of recognition certificate to those who donate.
(6) CPOA hats w/logo can now be ordered. Color voted on and they will be solid tan (khaki) with blue inside the bill of the hat.
(7) Motion of $100.00 to purchase “Unity” coins for Initiation made by MCPO D’Amico.
Vote taken and it was unanimous and motion accepted.
(1) BMC Dillman undergoing hernia operation
(2) Thanks to MCPO D’Amico for once again provided great food for our meeting
(3) Discussed upcoming Chowder Fest
(4) Special Olympics presented CPOA with a framed gold medal in appreciation of our Softball Tournament.
